Other family members can help.

Most often, testing the father’s parents (the child’s grandparents) is the next best option. It can also be helpful to test other family members, including brothers and sisters of the child (“known” children of the father”) or brothers and sisters of the father (“known” brothers and sisters of the father).

Include the child’s mother.
