Just a short post for an announcement. After a few months of down time, we have relaunched the message board forum on DNATesting.com. We would love to start seeing posts from customers and non-customers who have questions about Paternity and other DNA Testing. This is just another avenue for people to discuss all the things that come up with DNA Testing.
As always if there are any questions, concerns, or feedback feel free to comment.

I recently took a dna paternity test with my daughter and not thinking we both drank energy drinks shortly before doing the test. the results came back as 0% chance I am her father could the drinks make the results bad?

Marcel,
Thank you for your comment. The only time that food and drink can interfere with DNA testing is if it contaminates a sample. If this is the case our lab would not be able to extract the DNA from your swab. If this was the case we would not have been able to determine results of your testing and would have requested a recollection of your sample. If you received a result from us we were able to get all data necessary to determine a conclusive and accurate result. If you have any additional questions you can reply here or call: 888-404-4363.

Hi Kyle,
First, congratulations! I wish I was able to offer more advice, but I’m just not sure of the law on this (I’m not a lawyer by any means!). I’d check with an attorney in your state. Was the DNA paternity test that you did a home paternity test? If so, you may have to have another “legal” paternity test conducted, where the DNA samples are collected by an independent third-party.
Identigene does legal paternity testing as well. For more information on legal paternity testing vs. at home or peace of mind paternity testing, visit http://www.dnatesting.com/dna-testing/legal-vs-home.php

Why would identigene email me requesting additional information? What could they possibly need? They are in the process of testing.

Steph,
I’m not sure. I would contact client support at 888-404-4363 to see what they need. You want to make sure to contact them ASAP so that your result delivery time is not delayed. Best to you.
